4. Galaxy Rangers
This was certainly one of the standout shows for the kids who had lived in the 80s. Galaxy Rangers had reined in sci-fi elements as well as western influences, dating way back 20 years before Joss Whedon made news with Firefly. The synopsis for the show is easily covered in the opening credits, in which two pacifist aliens have landed on Earth in 2086, seeking the assistance of the humans. They would be willing to give the hyper drive in return for the help, which would finally open the doors for space travel for the humans. And lo…there is an ensemble of qualified individuals suited for the protection of the Earth, who would preserve absolute justice in the New Frontier above everything else. This would be the birth of the Galaxy Rangers.
This roster of characters easily outshines the seemingly presented clichés, as they battle against the evil Crown Empire and his batch of super-soldiers. The Series 5 implant imbues them with incredible powers, as they learn to use their super powers for the greater good. This show had lasted for one season, and even though its range of toy lines was not that impressive, it is one good show that is still waiting to be tapped again for the modern TV screen.
