With the Comic-Con International now on its way to us, Warner Bros. is all ready to impress the entire superhero slate, and Aquaman has now gotten caught in a huge wave (pun intended) of celebration. The movie’s first poster has now been released, and it is just great.
There is a lot to actually unpack in this poster. As we can see that the actor, Jason Momoa has be featured in the front and center as he portrays the character, Aquaman. With all his tattoos, the character, Arthur Curry looks very toned, and he also wears a pretty smirky smile.
The underwater imagery of this whole poster is almost impossible to miss. The poster has shown a lot of detail that have been put into the movie’s watery setting, and all the pieces of Atlantis can be seen in the background of this poster. The entire city’s towering buildings seem to have been built into a coral reef, and it has a lot of fins going through the waterways.
The poster debuts the movie’s very first tagline- “Home is calling.” The fans will get to see the character swim into a homecoming.
The director, James Wan had confirmed that the movie’s very first trailer would be going live at San Diego Comic-Con. He had also teased the reel on the social media platform, Twitter. He then posted an image that features a still from the Aquaman trailer, and it seems to show all of us Aquaman wielding the golden trident while standing on a rock.
“Working overtime to put the finishing touches for this coming week,” Wan had said.
The details regarding the movie and trailer have been kept pretty quiet regarding Aquaman, but a lot of the movie has been expected to come to life by the end of this week. The actor, Jason Momoa had also spoken with ComicBook regarding how the character differs in the solo movie.
“Surpassing Justice League, this moment in time is his call to become king.” Momoa had said.
“The only thing that can save Atlantis is me fighting my own brother. There’s a big battle, and there’s an epic [fight]. It’s also a big road movie because we travel all over the world.”
“It’s got that Star Wars quality of gigantic ships and guys riding sharks. It’s going to be this whole world you’ve never seen before. You’re going to see him start as this guy who probably rides bikes, works on cars. You get to see him this one way as kind of a dirty, dark, drunkard, and then turn into this regal king.”
