Though we have met the members of DC Universe’s live-action Doom Patrol through many posters, surreal family photo shoot, and intro videos, the series’ villain remained pretty much a secret. But now, the all-new teaser trailer for Doom Patrol has rectified this by showing us Alan Tudyk’s Mr Nobody.
Not only do the fans see Tudyk’s villain for the very first time, it seems like he is providing the teaser’s voiceover meta-narrative, and has stated, “More TV superheroes. Just what the world needs,” and this is punctuated with, “Ugh.”
A spinoff of the service’s successful Titans, this show, focuses on a group of misfits- Negative Man (Matt Bomer), Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Crazy Jane and Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby) and they who have been granted superhuman abilities after accidents. They had been brought together by Dr Niles Caulder, The Chief, and they are called into action by Cyborg.
The Doom Patrol had returned to the comics due to DC’s Young Animal imprint in a comic that was written by Gerard Way and also illustrated by Nick Derington. This offbeat superteam had made appearances in the final season of the Teen Titans series where they had helped Beast Boy, and the Titans fight the Brotherhood of Evil.
Doom Patrol, will star Brendan Fraser as Robot Man, Timothy Dalton as The Chief, April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman, Joivan Wade as Cyborg, Alan Tudyk as Mr Nobody, Matt Bomer as Negative Man, and Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane. This show has been scheduled to premiere on DC Universe on Feb. 15.
