The two major elements of the Bad Boys franchise as we all know are Martin Lawrence and Will Smith but if one is naming 3 key people, then the third will obviously be Gabrielle Union and the 4th name would be Michael Bay. The fans would have the 5th name as Tea Leoni. At one point, you may even say Joe Pantoliano’s name and he has now been confirmed make a comeback to this franchise with the 3rd movie, Bad Boys for Life.
The actor had played the role of the character, Captain Howard in the original movie in the year, 1995 and he had then returned for reprising this role in the 2003 movie. Pantoliano has starred in many movies The Goonies, like The Matrix, Congo and also Memento.
Many of the franchise’s fans have now been waiting for a very long time to get some official news about the upcoming movie, as Michael Bay had teased that it had been happening in the year, 2008.
Smith and Lawrence had been stars during the ’90s, with each of then having starred in sitcoms (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Martin), using the notoriety to transition into silver screen-big budget films. After Bad Boys, Will Smith had starred in films like Men in Black, and Independence Day. Lawrence had gone on to star in Big Momma’s House and Nothing to Lose.
Throughout most of his career, Will Smith went gone from one successful movie to another, including Ali, I Am Legend and many Men in Black movies. One of Will Smith’s recent successes had been the movie 2016 DC movie, Suicide Squad, and here, he starred as the character, Deadshot. A follow-up of the Suicide Squad movie is now being developed by James Gunn, though it is not unclear if Smith will return to this franchise.
Lawrence has been very selective with all roles, and this had led many Bad Boys fans to think a 3rd movie would never actually come to pass. Lawrence’s seeming excitement for this project has proved that he will return to the franchise.
Chris Bremner had written the script, and Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi are attached to direct the movie,
The movie has a release date of January 7, 2020.
