The late actress, Carrie Fisher, unfortunately, does not have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. But the Star Wars actor, Mark Hamill is super confident that this will eventually change, and it is just a matter of when this will come to pass. If Hamill has it his way, then, Carrie Fisher will surely have this honour in time for the release of the movie, Star Wars 9.
Mark Hamill is very active on Twitter, and he takes a lot of time to respond to all his fans. One fan expressed his wish to see this Walk of Fame situation taken care of and Hamill was very confident that the actress will get a star. He had suggested that all the Star Wars fans take this matter into their own hands and petition Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
“Carrie will get her well-deserved Star on the Walk of Fame; it’s only a matter of when. The rule is a 5-year wait when awarded posthumously. A letter to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce wouldn’t hurt, urging them to time it to the release of #EpIX #AlwaysWithUs.”
When it comes to the star on the Walk of Fame, it is easier said than done. Most people can make a list of the actors and actresses who need this honour, but it costs a lot of money to get this to happen. The actress should have been given a star and if her fans campaign for this, we may see Carrie Fisher get the star.
It will be nice to see the talented woman who played Princess Leia getting honoured with a star as the movie; Star Wars 9 gets ready for its release. Carrie Fisher had passed away in December in the year, 2016 before the release of The Last Jedi.
J.J. Abrams will make use of the leftover footage from the movies, The Force Awakens and also The Last Jedi for having Carrie Fisher make an appearance as Leia. Star Wars Episode IX will release on December 20, 2019.
