Ever since NetherRealm Studios had finished their work on Injustice 2, all the fans have been wondering what they are cooking up, with all the rumours that the team was creating yet another Mortal Kombat game.
During the Game Awards presentation, NetherRealm’s creative director, Ed Boon had made an announcement that their next game in the series, would be Mortal Kombat 11, and this will release by the year, 2019. This does seem to be jam-packed with a lot of blood-curdling excitement- much than what Mortal Kombat XL had brought in.
The trailer had given all the fans a glimpse on what action to expect from this game, with Scorpion and Raiden going head to head a very dark arena and they were seen delivering very thunderous blows to each other.
Scorpion then re-emerges after his head is blown up and he takes down Raiden with a huge fiery blast and also beheads him. As the logo for this game is shown, all the fans get a glimpse at one strange character near an hourglass, who will have an involvement in this story.
A community event for Mortal Kombat 11 is all set to take place on January 17 in Los Angeles, and here, the fans may see some real gameplay in action.
A few might question the choice of music for this game, produced for the trailer by 21 Savage, as it does not fit into the Mortal Kombat ethos, but it seems like the action sequences caters to the style that has been present with the 2011 version of Mortal Kombat, and this had been released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
There have been many rumours about who will make the cut and who would be left out this time, but Boon did not get into detail as he had been in the midst of presenting an award.
Mortal Kombat 11 will arrive on April 23, 2019, for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC.
