The CW has now released our very first official look at the actress, Ruby Rose as the character, Kate Kane/Batwoman. We will see this character debuting in December’s “Elseworlds” crossover of The Flash, Arrow, and also Supergirl.
“Elseworlds” will show us The Flash, Supergirl and Green Arrow, heading towards Gotham City and they will team up with Batwoman after some mad science at Arkham Asylum catches the attention of these superheroes.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be sitting out this crossover. A Batwoman pilot with Rose is now in the development stage.
The “Elseworlds” crossover will start its production soon, and it is highly likely that The CW had wanted to get this image out as soon as they can.
This Batwoman costume was designed by Colleen Atwood, and before she had designed the suit for Batwoman, she had worked on costumes for The Flash, Supergirl, and also, Arrow.
In the comic books, Kate Kane is a Jewish army brat and has a very complicated relationship with her father and Batman. This character had made her debut in the Silver Age, and this current version had been introduced in the year, 2006 during series 52.
Ruby Rose is well-known for films like John Wick: Chapter Two, and also, The Meg.
“I get to be Batwoman,” Rose had said.
“I feel like the reason I kept getting so emotional was because growing up watching TV I never saw someone on TV that I could identify with, let alone a superhero. [Tearing up] I said I wouldn’t do that and I’ve always had this saying, well not me, Oscar Wilde, which is ‘be yourself because everyone else is taken’ and so I always lived by that motto and the second moto when I came into the industry was ‘be the person that you needed when you were younger’ and I feel like one motto sort of led me to the other, and I just kept crying about it.”
Lois Lane, who will be played by the actress Elizabeth Tulloch, will be making her debut in the Arrowverse while Tyler Hoechlin will be reprising his role as Superman.
“Elseworlds”, will be taking place across 3 nights, and will be kicking off on Sunday, December 9th on The Flash at 8 p.m. ET. This will continue on Arrow Monday, December 10th at 8 p.m. and then finish on Supergirl Tuesday, December 11th at 8 p.m. ET.
