Marvel Actors, Samuel L. Jackson And Ryan Reynolds Will Team Up For A Sequel To ‘Hitman’s Bodyguard’

The Deadpool actor, Ryan Reynolds and the Avengers star, Samuel L. Jackson had teamed up for the action-comedy, called, The Hitman’s Bodyguard in the year, 2017 and this pairing was a huge success, and now, a sequel has been given the green light. Now it has been confirmed that Jackson and Reynolds will be coming back for their next movie.

Variety has also reported that Lionsgate is now moving ahead with The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard and this will star Salma Hayek also. Director, Patrick Hughes will return for this movie, and the script will be written by Phillip Murphy and Brandon.

This is what we know so far about this sequel:

“The sequel follows bodyguard Michael Bryce (Reynolds) enlisted by Jackson and Hayek’s characters to join them on a mission along the Amalfi Coast. Production is expected to start in March.”

The Hitman’s Bodyguard had earned $176M+ and had a budget of $30M.Since these actors have become more famous after Deadpool 2 and Infinity War, Lionsgate should easily be able to pull off a sequel.

The first movie had ended with Jackson’s character, Darius Kincaid breaking out of HMP Belmarshprison and sneaking away and meet his wife, Sonia (Hayek) in Honduras. This ending has reframed the premise of the movie’s sequel as Reynolds’ Michael Bryce being recruited by the Kincaids might not be as “above board” as it must be.

According to the report,

“Matt O’Toole and Les Weldon are producing for Millennium Media and Campbell Grobman Films. Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, Jeffrey Greenstein and Jonathan Yunger of Millennium and LatiGrobman and Christa Campbell of Campbell Grobman are executive producing. Joe Drake, Jason Constantine and EdaKowan from Lionsgate negotiated the domestic deal for the film with Lerner and Greenstein from Millennium.”
