This Fantastic Fan Theory Links Steve Trevor’s Appearance In Wonder Woman 1984 To Green Lantern And The Flash

A major revelation came from the Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins who appeared on a famous film podcast and revealed what the sequel might offer us. This is what she said:

“It’s really still going to portray values of hers, and a similar formula in so far as making a great, enjoyable fun movie but that ultimately in its third act turns some very big issues, and a very big experience that will aim to have slightly more weight and profundity than it has to have. Because that’s a formula that I really like, and I like the idea of taking somebody on a very solid, great journey but that arrives at a bigger question being answered. So it’s like that, but because she is Wonder Woman, and she’s here now, and she’s fully developed, it’s got great fun from the start and great big superhero presence from the start, and is funny and a great love story again and a couple new unbelievable characters who I’m so excited about, who are very different than were in the last movie. The first Wonder Woman movie was a huge success, and we expect something similar from the second one as well”.

For millions of DC fans, Wonder Woman was the film that they had waited for. Desperate to get a blockbuster after various failed movies fro WB and the film delivered big time, reviving the DCEU from almost becoming extinct. The film earned more than $800 million on the global box office and was greatly praised by critics and rival Marvel. The movie disturbed the pattern of failures at DC and created its own space with great style.

Gal Gadot did a great job by playing Wonder Woman who battled the God of War, Ares, during the World War I to protect humanity and the various supporting characters doing their own bit. However, the movie’s major attraction was the romance between Diana/Wonder Woman and Captain Steve Trevor. It won’t be wrong to say that Chris Pine’s character Steve Trevor played a crucial role in the movie’s success. This made fans worry that the sequel might not be good enough without him as he had died in a plane explosion during the first movie.

Rumors indicate towards Steve Trevor’s involvement in the upcoming film, and that was recently acknowledged by Patty Jenkins. This is the major revelation made by the director when she welcomed Steve Trevor on Wonder Woman 1984 set.

Right from the time this was revealed, a number of questions have been doing rounds about how did Steve Trevor survive the explosion and how can he look so young? Has be been resurrected? Did he go through something similar to Captain America 2 which kept Steve frozen for 70 plus years, just like Bucky Barnes? Is this due to magic? Will time travel be a factor in the film? In fact, we wonder whether it is even Steve Trevor or some clone or some descendant of him?

A lot of people have been trying to figure out how can Steve Trevor be back nearly 70 years after we saw him get blown up in an explosion and there was no way he could have survived that naturally. The only guesses that can explain it can byecryosleep, time-travel, magic or the fact that he is an entirely different person. The truth will come out only when the movie hits the big screen.

There is a fan theory which suggests how Steve could survive the blast, but, it is too fantastic and grand to be a part of a Wonder Woman solo film. The fan-created artwork detailing how Steve survived the explosion and also the reason why he didn’t age even a day despite several decades having passed. The fan has created two possible options that could explain this, and each of them involves a famous DC Universe superhero.

The first suggestion is that just before the plane exploded, a Green Lantern Ring flew in, selected Steve as the original Green Lantern from Earth and he has ever since been living as Green Lantern. This will also answer the questions and also links with the rumors about Chris Pine being cast as the Green Lantern in DCEU.

Initially, even before Pine being confirmed to play Steve Trevor, people had speculated him to play Hal Jordan aka Green Lantern. This would be a crazy turn of events and fans would no doubt love it, but, it will also make fans upset to see Steve Trevor as Green Lantern and not the famous Green Lanterns like Hal Jordan or Guy Gardner.

The other theory is inspired by Batman v Superman ’s sequence where The Flash traveled back in time to warn Bruce about the future. This theory says that before the plane explosion, The Flash sprinted in, grabbed Steve and dropped him in the 1980s, on his way back to the future. This also answers the questions, but, it is too crazy and weird to be actually considered.

In any case, the most delightful thing is that Steve Trevor is back in Wonder Woman 1984 and the movie would have lost its charm without him. As far as the villain of the movie is concerned, Cheetah has been rumored to be the leading villain in the film. Wonder Woman 1984 is also a Patty Jenkins movie which will release on November 1, next year. The mighty trio of Geoff Johns, Patty Jenkins, and David Callaham have written the screenplay, and the cast features Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Kristen Wig as Cheetah, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Pedro Pascal in an undisclosed role.

It is also rumored that Lynda Carter might make a guest appearance as was initially expected in the original film. Carter has a lot of good things to say about Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot. This is what she had said:

“We were trying to get me in the first one, and we couldn’t make it work with our timing… It really is up to Patty, and if it works in an organic way it’ll be great fun, and it’ll be wonderful to do. Am I open to it? Absolutely. I ADORE Patty Jenkins, and it’ll be wonderful to do. But we’ll just see how it goes.”

“I was so taken with the both of them, and taken with Patty from the beginning when she very first got this film, and we talked on the phone. I just said that she knows who this character is. Because Wonder Woman, it’s the idea of her. It’s not about superpowers; it’s about her intellect and compassion. It’s so much more than some comic book character because we identify with it.”

We are expecting to see another stunning film which will inspire and entertain us. The next adventure of Wonder Woman will depict the Russians from Cold War era who will get really close with Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman.

You can watch the original Wonder Woman film in Blu-ray with a great deal of additional material. The official synopsis for the film is given below:

“Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, Princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that’s raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny”.
