We saw how the heroes were beaten in Infinity War. Now it is the turn of Endgame to bring together the survivors under the leadership of Iron Man to finish the universal genocide that we saw at the end of Infinity War. Karma is keen to deliver the knockout punch to Thanos. But, can the heroes do it? Thanos is mighty and he defeated the entire band of Earth’s Mightiest heroes on his own.

A lot of people believe that the hopes of Avengers depend on the guy having in space: Tony Stark aka Iron Man. He was the one man who took on Thanos and almost defeated the Mad Titan on his home turf. Will Tony be able to finish his mission in Avengers: Endgame?

Seems like, the situation has now become a great deal more complicated. So let’s go ahead and take a look at the connection between Iron-Man and Thanos that nobody spotted!

The fight scene between these two was amazing. In their fight, Thanos states that Tony Stark is not the only one “cursed with knowledge.” Fans have been going bonkers trying to decipher what Thanos meant. However, the other freaking part of the story is when did he say that? Here is a theory that claims to reveal the answer.

It establishes a connection between the fact that Tony Stark has always been concerned about the future of the humanity and Thanos believed that life if left uncontrolled, is going to destroy the universe it is needed to be contained. As per this guy, Tony and Thanos have a much deeper connection than you could have imagined.

Let’s take a look at this official theory on Reddit that we are referring to:

MCU – Thanos cursed with knowledge

(Made a new post here since my last one was removed for lack of nametag:

In IW when Thanos tells Stark he’s “not the only one cursed with knowledge” most people agree that he’s speaking to Stark’s having seen visions of the future. But that sentence also means that Thanos is having similar visions. Which makes sense. Thanos is singularly focused on his goal of decimation and will stop at nothing to make it a reality. This mirrors Stark’s similar megalomania which led to Ultron. Remember, before leading a planet-hopping genocidal army, Thanos attempted to save his own planet due to the visions he saw of it being in ruins, but was unable to ultimately save his planet. This role of ignored prophet is one that Stark is all to familiar with.

Some theories point to Stark’s visions as well as his dreams about his and Peppers child point towards some type of information coming from the future, it’s not known if these visions are latent info from time travel or visions sent via the Quantum Realm (like Janet sending her memories to Scott). The important thing to realize is that Thanos is having his own visions as well.

Thanos had visions of his home planet struggling to survive it’s overpopulation and failed at preventing that future. What is interesting is that his goal is not to collect the stones in order to reverse the damage to Titan. He believes it to be a lost cause, and he must stop at nothing to collect the stones to snap away half the universe, because he’s seen this play out in his own visions and is compelled by them to make it a reality.

While it’s possible that these visions are vestiges of data in their brains leftover from time travel, I think the more likely scenario is that these visions are being sent to them from the Quantum Realm. We’ve seen this in action in AM&W when Janet sent Scott visions from her own past and he suddenly had the urge contact Hank and Hope. The visions compelled him to action.

People also forget that Stark and Thanos aren’t the only two people “cursed with knowledge” Thor has similar visions of the infinity stones in A2. There is also the prophecy of Ragnarok itself, which was likely a vision as well. Maybe it was Odin’s vision, and it compelled him to conquer the Nine Realms, and he realized that Hela was actually the harbinger of Ragnarok, not the savior from it.

Ego also alluded to similar visions of him seeding the entire universe from Eternity.

So, if visions sent via the Quantum Realm are indeed the source of Tony’s, Thanos’, Thor’s (and maybe Odin’s) visions, the questions is, who’s sending them and why?

What if all of these visions are being sent to compel to specific characters to act in certain ways. What if Thanos is just someone else’s unwitting pawn? What if this whole thing is just some cosmic chess match, and if so, who’s playing?

What if these visions are being sent by two opposing cosmic forces, like Eternity and Death, or Master Order and Lord Chaos? Both Death and Eternity have been name dropped in the MCU…)

Let us just concentrate on the opening paragraph (that’s where the real revelation is) and you can figure out the rest on your own.

This basically translates into the fact that Thanos and Tony are two faces of the same coin. What the Mad Titan is doing is to prevent future destruction from happening, events that he already knows about. We have seen in the past films that Tony also had visions of upcoming events and had even attempted to stop them. He built Ultron only for the protection of the future and not let his visions manifest. He was interested in giving humanity a chance to survive. That’s the same thing Thanos also wanted for his people, and the overall universe.

However, it is the last lines that really surprised us. Imagine what if there is actually a being powerful enough of controlling the universe? If there is such a person then it has to be a bigger threat to life compared to Thanos, who is merely a stooge trapped in the scheme of things. He is trying to stop the grand chess player from executing his scripts because he is very well aware that someone much deadlier than him is coming. However, what remains to be seen is – WHO?

Avengers: Endgame’s official film synopsis has been released recently and here it is:

“After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.”
