Injustice vs. Masters of the Universe, by Tim Seeley and Freddie E. Williams II, is surely packed with action and everyone will agree that it overflows with a lot of fan-service. With 3 issues having been released, it is very obvious that Seeley’s was a blast and played around with all the classic characters and made them finally clash.
There has surely been a lot of brawling, and this includes He-Man taking on a few of DC’s villains like Lobo, Cheetah and Deathstroke. But the writer has promised that the best of battles are still making their way to the audiences.
Injustice vs. Masters of the Universe #3 had closed curtains with Superman coming face to face with He-Man. This is the moment that all the fans have been waiting for a long time as the no-holds-barred iteration of Superman had rushed at He-Man and then blasted this hero down with heat vision. These two characters are all ready to duke it out, and Seeley has now made a promise that this fight will surely deliver. In an interview with Seeley, he had called the upcoming issue “one of the coolest things” he has written:
“They meet, and the brawl is on,” Seeley had said.
“It’s a one-issue fight scene between them, but it switches back and forth to the invasion of Eternia from Darkseid and Apokolips, so it’s parallel fight scenes. I’m so proud, it’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever written, and Freddie’s doing the coolest part of his career.”
Seeley had then assured all his fans that the upcoming collision between the Most Powerful Man in the Universe and the Kryptonian will not finish fast.
“I feel like four is the climax,” Seeley had said.
“It’s like a big high point; it’s the thing we promised. It’s Superman versus He-Man, and there’s no misunderstanding, and these are two dudes that genuinely disagree, and they totally hate each other, and they brawl for 22 pages.”
Superman Vs He-Man is not the only thing that the fans have to be excited about, and Seeley seemed to be super excited to tease Darkseid making an attack on Castle Grayskull.
“There are cool matchups going on,” Seeley had said.
“My favourite thing in this whole series is Darkseid goes to Grayskull, and he’s like, ‘I want in.’ Grayskull’s notoriously impenetrable in Masters of the Universe. You have to have the swords to get in, and it’s Darkseid versus Castle Grayskull, basically. He’s like, ‘I’m getting in. I don’t care what you are; I’m Darkseid.’ And so it’s just like basically the thing you always wanted to play when you were a kid.”
“Man, I’d love to do another Masters of the Universe one,” said Seeley. “One of the things we talked about was Masters of the Universe versus The Fourth World. You know, bringing in Mister Miracle and Orion.”
The writer then said that the ending may justify bringing a lot more of the Fourth World:
“We set up some stuff at the end of the series — I won’t give it away — but there’s a little thing in there that we could totally get away with,” said Seeley. “We could have a reason to go to Apokolips, and we could have a reason to bring in all this stuff, so it would be cool. I’d love to do it.”
Seeley had then mentioned that there is another fight coming up in the sequence of Injustice vs. Masters of the Universe #4 and he is very excited about that.
Injustice vs. Masters of the Universe #4 will be on sale on Oct. 31.
