Popular 1960s show, Jonny Quest, from Cartoon Network is said to come up with its own live-action movie, under Warner Bros. production. The producers have finally found their director to take up the project. In a news report by TheWrap, Warner Bros. is in talks of roping in The LEGO Batman Movie director, Chris McKay to take-up the directional task of the Jonny Quest movie, under the production of Johnathan Eirich and Adrian Askarieh, from Prime Universe.
Warner Bros. previously made attempts to release the movie on the big screen back in the year 2015, with Robert Rodriguez as the director, along with Terry Rossio and Dan Mazeau as screenplay writers. The story did not proceed further and so Rodriguez left the project, which eventually led to temporarily putting the movie on hold ever since.
Director McKay has his hands full, post the success of the LEGO Batman Movie, which released in the year 2017. It is also stated that his upcoming directional ventures include – a Nightwing movie and Dungeons & Dragons movie, in addition to the Jonny Quest movie. However, it is not known if Jonny Quest is in his top priority list.
