Hela is a fictional character that appeared in American comic books and made its debut in the Silver Age of comic books and first appeared in Journey into Mystery.
Hela was born in Jotunheim, the land of giants. She is the daughter of giantess Angrboda and Odin. She used to work as her father’s executioner and helped to conquer the Nine Realms with violence and war. Later, Odin realized that bringing peace was the only way to unite the Nine Realms but it is a threat to peace for Hela’s over-ambitiousness. Hela always wanted to rule over Nine Realms and take over the throne after Odin. Odin combats with her daughter and banished her from Asgard by imprisoning her.
Though Hela tried so hard to come out but failed. But in the wake of the death of Odin, his power over Hela’s imprisonment waned and she came out and confronted her two brothers, Loki and Thor. She ordered them to kneel before her as she is the new queen of Nine Realms. But Thor refused to do that. She also killed Hogan who tried to stop her and she entered the Asgardian Palace. The people of Asgard weren’t agree with her decision to be the new queen and they gathered together in front of her.
n the meantime, Thor made his return to Asgard and he battled against her sister but Hela grabbed Thor and pinned him to the pillar. Thor unleashed a massive lighting blast and destroyed the Royal Palace’s balcony and leaped down to his army to fight against Hela’s army. In the end, Hela was defeated by Surtur who plunged a massive blade down that impaled Hela and completely obliterated her body.
Hela could take over the cosmos with her powers and she also had a supernatural connection to the realm Asgard. She possessed tremendous levels of superhuman strength that allowed her to single-handedly wipe out all of the Valkyries.
