Being an actor can be very stressful at times. Especially if you have to bring to life fan-favourite comic book superheroes. Superhero movies are known as the millennial mania. At times the actors and actresses have nailed the roles of superheroes, and at times, they have really screwed it up. There is always a sense of pride as the superhero films, and most actors and actresses are super excited to play the roles of superheroes. Here we have for you 10 actors who never want to play a superhero again:
1. Mickey Rourke – Iron Man 2
In an interview, this actor did not seem very happy, and the Marvel Execs had tried to experiment with the Iron Man Franchise as a pretty mindless comic bigwig instead of immersing in the story. It had been during the promotion of Immortals that this actor had shared the confessions on developing the antagonist with the director, Jon Favreau and also with the screenwriter, Justin Theroux for fleshing out an Ivan Vanko Arc. But Marvel had cut the powers of this villain as a baddie with a few cool whips.
2. Jessica Alba- Fantastic Four
The Fantastic Four was not really the highlight of the actress’ career, and she was not really into this role with commitment. The actress had admitted that she did try and put in efforts to bring the emotions out into her acting.
3. Kirsten Dunst – Spider-Man
Toby and Kirsten had surely broken the conventions of Superhero films and had shared the hottest onscreen kiss in any comic book film. There had been a very deep connection between the characters, and because of her, all comic films look up to her character for imbibing. Dunst had wanted to do a 4th Spider-Man movie, but this did not stop her from criticising her run:
“I wanted to be in that movie so badly. I loved it, and I wish we could have made a fourth.”
4. Andrew Garfield – The Amazing Spider-Man
Andrew Garfield did not self-sabotage his casting, but he did not compromise who he had been at that point in time. He was dressing up for this role since 3, and he used to be a big follower. Garfield had complained of the studio interference in the movie which had included many cut-out scenes that could have gone deeper into Peter Parker.
5. Natalie Portman – Thor
Many rumblings about the exit of director, Patty Jenkins from the second Thor film had this actress comply with the second project on a contractual basis. For Portman, this was an amicable goodbye for her. Her character had broken up with Thor off-screen.
6. Terrence Howard – Iron Man
This actor had received a $ 3.5 million as remuneration since there had been a promise of adding 5 million dollars if a sequel had been greenlit. Also, the actor had taken $ 1 million as pay cut for persuading RDJ to join this franchise. After the first movie, the studio had called Howard’s agent and told them about the salary cut. Howard’s next role was limited, and this had not been well-received with the agent and cursed them over the phone. Don Cheadle had then been hired, and he had become a 100-million-dollar recipient for the playing Rhodey.
7. Eric Bana – Hulk
Bana had starred in Ang Lee’s Hulk, and the audience had seen the birth of an anti-hero. Bana was super happy as there was no link for a sequel.
“Think I’m so lucky it didn’t happen. So, I think the opposite — one of the things I was most fearful of at the time is it being a huge success [laughs]… I feel very blessed to have been given the opportunities that I’ve had the last 10 years — so I wouldn’t want to change that for anything. Everyone’s career is different, and I’m not saying it wouldn’t have been exciting — it would have been a different thing… And I’ve really enjoyed my ride.”
8. Christian Bale – Batman
Christian Bale had felt that he did not nail the role:
“Heath turned up and just kinda completely ruined all my plans because I went, ‘He’s so much more interesting than me and what I’m doing.’ … And so I sort of go, ‘Eh I know I didn’t quite manage what I hoped I would through the trilogy.’ Chris did, but my own sense of self is like, ‘I didn’t quite nail it.’”
The actor had propelled the comic lore that made it very much loved for many fans across the world.
9. Hugo Weaving- Captain America
The reason why MCU is so successful is because of the multi-million-dollar contract with their actors and actresses.
Hugo Weaving had said that although he reprised the role in the future Avengers films, this does not mean that he will be a part of them. And it is now best that he bids farewell.
10. Hugh Jackman- Wolverine
After 8 films, the actor said that he was having a pretty rough time playing this character for eternity. Logan had been the end, and it was a good tribute to the actor and the character.
