Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is universally known as AOC, she is an American politician working as the U.S. Representative for New York’s 14th congressional district. The district incorporates the eastern part of the Bronx and parts of north-central Queens in New York City. Alexandria is a supporter of the Democratic Party.

She trounced Democratic Caucus Chair Joe Crowley, a 10-term appointee, in what was widely seen as the biggest upset victory in the 2018 midterm election primaries. She beat Republican foe, Anthony Pappas, in the 6th November 2018, general election.
Taking office at age of just 29, Ocasio-Cortez is the littlest woman ever to serve up in the United States Congress. Alexandria has been remarked for her substantial social media presence relative to her fellow members of Congress. She studied in international relations and economics at Boston University, graduating cum laude in 2011. Alexandria was formerly an activist and worked part-time as a waitress and bartender before running for Congress in 2018.
She is among the first female members of the Democratic Socialists of America nominated to serve in Congress. She advocates a progressive platform that comprises Medicare for all, a federal jobs guarantee, a Green New Deal, abolishing the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement free public college and trade school, and a 70% marginal tax rate for income above $10 million.
