The Japanese wrestler Kanako Urai is popularly known by the named of ASUKA. Asuka is currently signed with WWE. Asuka was born on 26 September 1981 and she hails from Osaka, Japan. Asuka studied at Osaka University of Arts Junior College. Since her childhood, Kanako was involved in sports backgrounds such as figure skating and badminton before coming into the world of wrestling. Kanako also owns a hair salon named “Another Heaven” in Yokohama. Kanako started her career as a graphic designer but after she started following some popular wrestlers such as Minoru Suzuki and Keiji Mutoh she became passionate to become a wrestling champion. Asuka made her wrestling debut for promotion “AtoZ” in the year 2004 against Leona. Asuka spent her initial part of her wrestling career with “AtoZ” however, later she retired after being diagnosed with nephritis in the year 2006. During that time, Kanako started her graphic designing agency. Later in 2007, Asuka made a comeback to the world of wrestling when she worked as a freelancer for promotions including “Pro Wrestling Wave”, “Ice ribbon”, “NEO Japan Ladies Pro-Wrestling” and “JWP Joshi”. Later in 2009, Kanako teamed with Takahashi for the NEO Tag Team Championship and they defeated Kyoko Inoue and Hiroyo Matsumoto.
