Avengers 4: Directors Claim That The Film Might Be 3 Hours Long

We are inching closer to the mega film Avengers 4, day by day. It is now becoming clearer that the Avengers: Infinity War sequel is going to be a huge film, in every sense.

The film is being mentioned as the grand finale of the last ten years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, comprising of 22 movies. In case you are following the developments, the film is going to take care of a lot of things including the major aspect of the missing Hawkeye, and the countless plot strings that it needs to tie up.

Avengers 4 is going to get going from the point where Avengers: Infinity War ended. However, the two films combined, bring to us a full ten years of narratives and character stories. Therefore, it is not surprising that each of these films is going to be much longer.

Avengers Infinity War clocked two and a half hours. Despite not being as long as the reports claimed before its release, it is still the longest film so far from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it is two minutes longer than the Captain America: Civil War. As far as Avengers 4 is concerned, Joe Russo says that the film might hover close to 3 hours.

During a recent interview with Collider, the moviemaker hinted that the film would be lengthier than Infinity War and despite the fact that he didn’t mention the exact runtime, he did say that it might clock 180 minutes.

“I’ll say it could easily be a three-hour film, but I think that you know, we’re very hard on the material. We like it to play at a certain pace. Uh…I…you know, I’m sure that we’ll squeeze it.  I can’t imagine..We have a whole year of work left on that movie. I do think it will be longer than Avengers 3, but it’s clearly impossible to say”

Irrespective of the duration, we are certain that the movie is going to be quite a long one. It will not only tidy up the various plot points left unattended by Infinity War but, Avengers 4 will also bring to an end the ongoing Phase of the MCU and create an opening for the future.

Talking of that, it is already clear that the Phase 4 of MCU will be greatly cosmic in nature, and the studio is reportedly making an Eternals movie, and also various other space themed films (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3). It is still not clear how Avengers 4 will create the path for all such things, but, by the looks of it, the Russo Brothers will definitely have ample time on their hands to tell the story.
