Avengers: Infinity War – Here Is A Fan Theory Explaining Time Stone’s Mystery

The Avengers: Infinity War showed Thanos on a mission to get hold of all the six Infinity Stones so that he could put them in his Infinity Gauntlet and kill half of the living beings in the Universe. To stop him, Iron-Man and other heroes went to his home planet ‘Titan,’ but, Star-Lord acted impulsively and ruined their plan. Thanos was about to murder Stark, but, Dr. Strange chose to hand over the Time Stone in lieu of Stark’s life.

We saw how Doctor Strange evaluated more than 14 million results and there is just one possibility for Avengers to win the war. And this scenario, it is important to ensure that the Iron-Man remained alive. However, what a lot of fans couldn’t understand was the reason why Doctor Strange didn’t use the Time Stone himself.

A Reddit user lol-guru addressed the mystery related to the Time Stone and explained:

“I would postulate that the time stone can be sent through time all by itself, going forward or backward. How would you play keep away with the time stone? Easy. Send it forward in time to where Thanos can’t get it! The problem is (as comic fans already know) Thanos is immortal, so he can wait it out. Let’s swing back to the exchange”.

“Dr. Strange conjuring forth the stone the same way as Loki did the tesseract is a gigantic misdirect! Loki is able to conceal the tesseract with his godlike powers of illusion, and while Dr. Strange could certainly be capable of mimicking this easy trick, I don’t think that’s what’s happening. The stone is glowing brilliantly because it’s actually travelling back in time from the future! (This becomes a lot easier to envision if you’ve watched Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure)”.

“When Dr. Strange hid the time stone it wasn’t through some trick of light or illusion like Loki but by sending it forward in time to be used later. Only to be sent back when the Avengers had finished using it.”

We don’t yet know how things will unfold in Avengers 4. This is what the writers of Avengers: Infinity War said:

Markus – “[Avengers 4] doesn’t do what you think it does. It is a different movie than you think it is. Also…[the deaths are] real. I just want to tell you it’s real, and the sooner you accept that the sooner you will be able to move on to the next stage of grief”.

McFeely – “Nobody knows, and that’s what makes me particularly excited. I look all the time on the internet: people have no idea. [Avengers] 4 resolves the intrigue of Infinity War; [the movies are] clearly linked, but they almost seem to belong to two different genres. We did not want to cut a film in half and say, ‘Pay now and come back in a year for the rest!’ These are two very different stories, on a tonal and structural level.”

Avengers: Infinity War has an incredible ensemble cast comprising of top actors including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Chris Pratt (Starlord), Chris Evans (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Reiner (Hawkeye), Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Tom Holland (Spiderman), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Evangeline Lily (Wasp), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Dave Bautista (Drax), Vin Diesel (Groot), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel).

The Avengers 4 synopsis is given below:

A culmination of 22 interconnected films, the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”
