This Is The Real Reason Why Thanos Did Not Kill The Avengers

In the movie, Avengers: Infinity War, the Mad Titan, Thanos and his Black Order had come into conflict with the Avengers as they had tried to stop Thanos.

On Titan and also in Wakanda, once Thanos had gotten all the stones, he had teleported and leaves the Avengers in devastation. Some of the fans may wonder why Thanos decided spared all the foes and not kill them.

Marvel Studios’ Head of Visual Development, Ryan Meinerding had talked about Thanos’ mindset and had also revealed why he was left them alive:

“The plan of getting all the Infinity Stones is putting [Thanos] in the position of being so powerful that he is sort of calmer, more single-minded, and more reasonable,” Meinerding had said.

“He is not necessarily worried about killing the heroes. As long as he ends up with the stones, he can accomplish what he wants to.”

Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige had also spoken at length about Thanos’ importance in the MCU and had also addressed challenges of building up the purple cosmic villain over the course of many movies.

“Thanos has been lurking in the shadows with a desire to obtain these Infinity Stones, which has played a big part in our other films,” Feige had said.

“We’ve introduced the Tesseract, revealed to be the Space Stone; the Mind Stone, which came out of Loki’s sceptre and then went into Vision’s forehead; and the Time Stone: the Eye of Agamotto that Doctor Strange wears is an Infinity Stone itself! And of course, the Guardians dealt with the Power Stone.”

“So these storytelling devices that we’ve seeded into every film will continue to play a part and come together,” Feige had said.

“We’ve been teasing this for six years. That’s a long time to tease something cinematically before paying it off. Thanos has to be the greatest villain in our movies.”

The very fact that Thanos is not driven by anger is what actually makes him very unique in the MCU, and he was not wronged or betrayed, and he had served a much higher purpose.

Avengers 4 will release on May 3, 2019.
