Black Widow made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the second Iron-Man film, where she played the role of an undercover S.H.I.E.L.D. operative who worked as Iron-Man’s secretary, but, her real aim was to spy on him. Upon seeing her o the screen for the first time, most of the fans felt that she might be there only as an eye-candy (the fact that the drop-dead gorgeous Scarlett Johansson played the role made that obvious, isn’t it?) However, once The Avengers arrived on the scene, life changed for Natasha Romanoff.

Audiences loved Scarlett Johansson’s version of Black Widow, and this appreciation pushed the writers to explore the character further. The result is a well-written character who has multiple aspects to it. Although it was shown in the form of only a flashback scene, it seems as if we are well-versed with Natasha’s origin, but, there is more to explore. It was only a fraction of the origin story, and that is why Marvel Studios has now coming up with a highly anticipated Black Widow film, which was first hinted at by Captain America star Chris Evans. He said:

“There’s nothing Marvel can’t do, and I’m sure it’s gonna have the exact same effect when Captain Marvel comes out, and then the Black Widow movie comes out. Marvel just has the winning recipe, and they’re kind of one step ahead of everybody else.”
