MCU’s latest outing, Captain Marvel has introduced a new heroine to the shared universe. However, her origin story leaves the scope and nature of her powers as a mystery.
The fans now know that Carol Danvers powers are a mix of Mar-Vell’s photon powers and also the Tesseract’s Space Stone powers, but powerful does all this make the new superhero?
According to Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios head, Captain Marvel is the most powerful character in the whole of the MCU:
“In our comics mythology, Captain Marvel is a character who’s got one foot on Earth and one foot in the cosmic arena. Now that we’ve made a number of movies that take place on Earth, and a number of cosmic adventures with the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Thor, we thought it was the right time to finally introduce Captain Marvel to the world. She’s one of the most powerful – and one of the most popular – characters in our comics, and will be the most powerful character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
The whole debate about her power levels has been raging since the film released, and you would think that she had been a Dragon Ball character.
One might even think that what Kevin Feige says above will quell a few of the debate – but nope! Brie Larson’s character, Captain Marvel is a hot-button character, and she is the “most powerful in the MCU”.
Captain Marvel has been a pivotal MCU releases, and from a pretty convoluted origin story to the questions left dangling after the movie, all the fans have a lot of varied feelings about Carol Danvers. In the trailer for Avengers: Endgame, we see Carol and Thor share a flirting moment, and the fans are excited to see how the two of them join forces to bring down Thanos.
Avengers: Infinity War is now available on home video, and Captain Marvel is now in theatres. Upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movies include Avengers: Endgame on April 26th, and Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5th.
