Carol Lynley who enjoyed a lengthy acting career and first appeared on Broadway in her teens had died recently on 3^rd September this year. She died of a heart attack in her sleep at the age of 77. She also appeared in several Clairol and Pepsodent advertisements. In 1955, she made her Broadway debut with the production of Anniversary Waltz. She also played the role of Dame Sybil’s granddaughter in the stage production of Potting Shed. She made her debut in big-screen in 1958 with the Disney’s film The Light in the Forest for which she was nominated for the award of Most Promising Newcomer- Female. The following year, she appeared in the film, Holiday for Lovers. She came to prominence for appearing in the film, Blue Denim in 1959 for which she won an award for one of the most promising personalities in 1956-57. She became very famous being cast in the cult-classic film, The Poseidon Adventure in 1972. She became very famous when she posed nude at the 22 for Playboy magazine in 1965. She was cast in the television films, Kolchak: The Night Stalker and Fantasy Island. Her career began to decline in the late 1960s and 70s. She started getting small roles and appeared in low-budget films. In 2006, she appeared in 30 minutes short film, Vic as Carrie Lee. Some of her films are Flypaper, The Four Deuces, Norwood, Bunny Lake Is Missing, The Pleasure Seeker, The Last Sunset, and many more. She appeared in a few television series such as The Invaders, The Big Valley, Mannix, Hawaii Five-0, etc.

She was born on 13^th February in 1942 in Manhattan, New York. Her parents were Cyril and Frances Jones. She was of Irish, Scottish, German, and English descent.

From 1960-1964, she was married to Michael Selsman with who she had a child. Later, she had an 18-year affair with David Frost.

She has won the Theatre World Award and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award and Golden Laurel Award.
