Australian-American actress and director Cate Blanchett was born on 14th May 1969 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, to June and Robert DeWitt Blanchett. Cate completed her graduation from Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1992 and, in a little over a year, had earned both critical and popular recognition. After graduating from NIDA, she enlisted the Sydney Theatre Company’s production.
She characterized Felice Bauer, the bride, in Tim Daly’s Kafka Dances, and achieving the 1993 Newcomer Award from the Sydney Theatre Critics Circle for her accomplishment. Her other theatre credits comprise Helen in the Sydney Theatre Company’s Sweet Phoebe, Miranda in The Tempest and Rose in The Blind Giant is Dancing. In other television characters, Cate featured as Bianca in ABC’s Bordertown, ABC’s popular series Police Rescue. She earned her characteristic film debut in 1997 in Paradise Road.

In the year 2004, she portrayed actress Katharine Hepburn in Martin Scorsese’s film Aviator for which she accepted an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress. In the year 1997, she wedded Australian playwright, screenwriter, and director Andrew Upton. Together they have 4 children.
