She released her single, A Thousand Years that was featured in the film, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1 in 2011. She became very famous for the song and the song debuted at number 63 on the Billboard Hot 100. This is her most successful song to date. In 2012, she released her second EP, A Very Merry Perri Christmas. Her second, Head or Heart was released in 2014. She released her third album, Brave Enough in 20016. In 2019, she released her first lullaby album, Carmella: Lullabies & Sing-a-Longs that was dedicated to her daughter.

In 2017, she got married to Paul Costabile with whom she has a daughter.

She has won the 4Music Video Honours, BMI Pop Award, Musicnotes.com Song of the Year Award, and the others.
