Once Connie Francis filed a suit against Universal Music Group alleging that they took advantage of her condition and stopped paying royalties. She filed a suit for the second time against the label saying they inflicted severe emotional distress on her and violated her moral rights. But this suit was dismissed. In 1977, Francis underwent nasal surgery and as a result, she lost her voice completely. She went through several operations. But even though, she got her voice back, she had been asked to take voice lessons.

She was inspired by her father to take part in different talent contests, pageants, and many neighborhood festivals. In 1953, she appeared in the variety show, Startime Kids. After the show went off the air, she tried to raise funds for a recording session of four of her songs but she didn’t get any help. Later, MGM Records signed a contract with her and decided to release her singles. But her single, Freddy turned out to be a commercial failure. Despite her failure, she recorded songs for the film, Rock Rock Rock and Jamboree. On her father’s insistence, she recorded the song, Who’s Sorry Now in 1957 and without her expectation, the song became a huge hit and is ranked number 1 on the UK Singles Chart in 1958. She also got success for her single, Stupid Cupid. She released her debut album, Connie Francis Sings Italian Favorites in 1959 with Abbey Road Studios. She had a third number 1 hit with the single Don’t Break the Heart That Loves You in 1962. The following year, she released her autobiography, For Every Young Heart. After regaining her voice, she returned to the musical world with I’m Me Again and Comme ci comme ca in 1981. In 2017, she released her most recent autobiography, Among My Souvenirs.

She was born on 12^th December in 1938 in Newark, New Jersey. Her parents are Ida Franconero and George Franconero.

She has gone through four failed marriages. In 1985, she married her fourth husband, the TV producer, Bob Parkinson that lasted for eight months.

She has won the Golden Globe Award and was nominated for the Golden Laurel Award several times.
