CW Just Ordered A Batwoman Pilot To Replace Arrow

The CW has just ordered Batwoman and will step into the spot that will be vacated by Arrow when the original Arrowverse series ends its run halfway by 2019/2020. The Riverdale spinoff, Katy Keene is also going to series, with Nancy Drew. Batwoman will star The Meg’s Ruby Rose as the main role as Kate Kane who is Bruce Wayne’s cousin and the very first lesbian superhero in her very own TV series. This character had been introduced during the “Elseworlds” crossover series.

“Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane (Rose) soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a saviour, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope,” the official synopsis of the series reads.

“She is more fun because she’s a billionaire, she has ladies that love her,” Rose had said.

“I think, for the most part, crossover-wise, she’s swaggy. She always knew who she was, but she’s really coming into knowing who she is in the crossover, and with Batwoman as well. It’s not the first time she’s put on the suit.”

This series has been expected to release by midseason, which will make Batwoman a replacement for Arrow. This series has been expected to air right through the events of “Crisis on Infinite Earths” and also before the year, 2020. A popular theory is that Oliver Queen will sacrifice himself by “Crisis on Infinite Earths” for saving the Barry Allen and and the multiverse. Batwoman is a character who has a pretty long history in the comic books, and she is someone who has become very popular.

The CW’s fall schedule is set to be announced at the 2019 Upfront presentation in New York on May 16.
