Issue #70 of Injustice 2 shows Orca and Killer Croc readying their vows to each other, and that’s when Poison Ivy recalls a story about Las Vegas, a duplicate of Elvis and a marriage to Harley Quinn. Take a look.
It has already been clarified by the Injustice series that Poison Ivy and Harley were a couple, but, it wasn’t revealed previously that they had married. However, the writers Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo have confirmed that they did get married.
While the marriage took place in an alternate universe, their romance also exists in the mainstream DC universe. They had an open relationship in 2015, and they were quite a popular pair, right from the time they teamed up in Batman: The Animated Series.
Sadly, the pair might have a happy ending in the comic books, but, the video game. Injustice 2 shows both representing rival sides of the superhero battle, and their romance ending nastily and violently.
Still, fans will see them join hands again when Harley Quinn’s solo animated series comes to the DC Universe’ upcoming streaming platform. The synopsis for Harley Quinn mentions that her best friend and lover will have a major role in the upcoming animated series.
“Harley Quinn follows Harley’s adventures after she breaks up with the Joker and strikes out on her own in this new adult animated comedy. With the help of Poison Ivy and a ragtag crew of DC castoffs, Harley tries to earn a seat at the biggest table in villainy: the Legion of the Doom.”
However, we are not sure when the series will premiere on DC Universe, as so far they have only mentioned that the streaming platform will be available late this year and will have the new live-action show Titans. Harley Quinn is expected to premiere next year alongside the reboot of Young Justice.
