New End Game Theory Suggests Hela’s Return To The MCU

It has been more than a one year since Taika Waititi’s Marvel movie, Thor: Ragnarok has released, and the movie had featured the MCU debut of the actress, Cate Blanchett. She had played the role of Hela, the Goddess of Death and was the sister of Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth and Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston.

This character had died the end of Ragnarok, but this is not really stopping the fans from thinking that Hela will return. Now, a new theory has started to surface online, and this argues that the character return in the movie, Avengers: Endgame.

This theory had been shared to the /r/MarvelStudios subreddit and brings the production’s presence at Durham Cathedral to light. Due to this post, many fans have since started to think that this cathedral may have been used as a set piece for a few Asgardian locations -Valhalla or even Hel.

While the exterior of this cathedral had been used in the movie, Avengers: Infinity War during the battle between Corvus Glaive and Vision in Edinburgh, this theory brings up a few previous set images that had that surfaced, and they show the interior of this structure being used. In the set images, a life-sized stand-in prop of the Rocket Raccoon had been seen inside this cathedral.

Since Infinity War had created a budding relationship with Rocket and Thor, the fans are trying their best to put everything together, and they thinking that the duo will travel to either Valhalla or Hel for assembling an army of undead warriors to destroy Thanos. This is where Hela will swing in, and it is fitting that the Goddess of Death leads the army of dead against the purple cosmic villain.

Reddit user /u/melodicbeginning had also doubled-down on this theory and had even given a video where Blanchett is at an interview in front of a statue. While this statue may not stand out to viewers, the statue is the very same one that had been seen in leaked set images. This also happens to be the one that Thor sees in his visions in the movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Avengers: Endgame will release on April 26th
