The drop dead gorgeous Erika Eleniak might have bid adieu to her lifeguard duties on Baywatch a whole generation ago, but, the blonde beauty is still a headturner. She has done plenty of good work between Baywatch and now and is presently working on developing a reality series titled Ride It Out. The series features people with mental health issues such as PTSD, substance abuse and depression who get helped by horses and therapists practicing equine therapy.
Born as Erika Maya Eleniak on September 29, 1969 in Glendale, California, she is a well known American actress, Playboy Playmate, and a former model renowned for her appearance as Shauni McClain in Baywatch. She debuted in a minor role in the film E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (1982). In the film her role was of the girl kissed by Elliott in the classroom scene. She first played an adult role as Vicki De Soto, a victim of the creature in the 1988 horror remake The Blob.
As a 19-years-old, the sexy Eleniak featured in the July 1989 issue of Playboy. In the same year, she landed a recurring role in the TV series Charles in Charge and also bagged a female lead role on Baywatch which she played from 1989 until 1992. She appeared as Carrie in “One Last Kiss” an episode of Full House. In the year 1992, Eleniak made a comeback to film acting as a Playboy Playmate hired to perform a striptease for the captain of a U.S. Navy battleship in Under Siege. She was Playmate of the Month for July 1989. She starred as Elly May Clampett in the big screen version of The Beverly Hilibillies in the year 1993. In 1994, she starred in the Dennis Hopper directed comedy movie Chasers with William McNamara. She also worked with McNamara in Girl In The Cadillac (1995) and appeared as identical twins in the 1995 video game Panic In The Park. She kept appearing in indie movies until 2003.
Eleniak has suffered from weight issues and at one point she was underweight due to an eating disorder and was even hospitalized for laxative abuse.
After she completed filming of Snowbound in the year 2001 in Calgary, Alberta, Eleniak became charmed by the city. She started romancing Roch Daigle, a key grip who used to work on the film’s set. She had for long wished to leave Los Angeles and was tired of commuting to and from Telluride, Colorado. She then bought a home in Calgary where Daigle also lived. They eventually married and Eleniak later gave birth to a daughter.
