An All-New Female Spider-Man Spinoff Movie Has Been Announced. Here’s What’s Happening

It now seems like Sony is trying to expand the Spider-Verse with a whole new spinoff that will star Spider-Gwen and many other female members of this universe.

The directors of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Chris Miller and Phil Lord are now expected to be involved, but this movie is set to be helmed by Lauren Montgomery. It will feature characters like Silk, Madame Web, Spider-Woman, and many others, although only one has been confirmed -Spider-Gwen. THR has reported that Montgomery is now in negotiations for directing and Amy Pascal is set to produce.

Once Into the Spider-Verse releases in theatres, Sony will hope to use the goodwill to grow the Spider-Man animated universe. This movie will throw light on Peter Parker, andMiles Morales but Spider-Gwen will have a very crucial role to play as well.

Having many characters like Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) and also, Silk (Cindy Moon) will surely make sense for the female-centric team.
