Cliff Curtis is now all set to join Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and the actor, Jason Statham in the Fast & Furious spinoff film, Hobbs & Shaw.
Curtis is well-known for his work on Fear the Walking Dead as the character, Travis Manawa, which the star has left during the series’ 3rd season premiere for shooting a few of the Avatar films starting with Avatar 2. Curtis is well-known for roles in The Dark Horse, Training Day, Whale Rider and Sunshine.
Johnson had recently revealed that Curtis would play one of the brothers of Luke Hobbs in Hobbs & Shaw.
“A lil’ Hobbs & Shaw exlusive,” Johnson had written.
“The Hobbs Brothers. In Samoa, we have a word that means everything to us – aiga – which means family.”
As the story may go, the Hobbs family will be united with WWE Roman Reigns playing a very crucial role.
“My name is Luke Hobbs, and these are my four brothers,” Johnson’s post reads. “My family. My aiga.”
It looks like this film may stay very true to the Fast & Furious franchise roots, and also bring a custom car shop into this mix.
“They all live is Western Samoa where they own and operate ‘Hobbs Customs’ – a former illegal chop shop, now a legit business where they build and deliver vintage custom cars all over the world. In Samoa, we have another saying which is “Ou te le tau to’atasi ae matou te tau fa’atasi’ which means, ‘When you fight one, you fight us all.'”
“Biggest showdown the Fast & Furious Universe has ever seen is coming this summer,” Johnson had written.
This image has revealed that Josh Mauga and John Tui have also joined the Hobbs & Shaw cast. Other than Statham, and, this film will star Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby, Eddie Marsan and Eiza González. It will be directed by David Leitch.
Hobbs & Shaw will release on August 2, 2019.
