The beauty got catapulted in the status of global icon as a former member of the South Korean girl group Sistar and their subunit Sistar19.
The beauty was born on December 11, 1990, in Incheon, South Korea. She was born to a retired Marine Corps officer. Her birth was premature which caused her to have a serious form of biliary atresia, which led to several surgeries, intussusception and the eventual loss of her gallbladder. After a long ordeal she regained her health fully at adulthood.

Her upbringing happened along with a younger sister, Kim Hye-jung. From a very young age she began to have artistic tendencies and decided to audition for various agencies. After two failed auditions she was accepted in JYP entertainment and was also set to debut with Secret’s Jieun, EXID’s Hani, and Bestie’s Uji.

However, plans for their debut were cancelled. Thereafter she joined Starship agency and made her debut in the group named Sistar. Her foray into acting happened with the KBS drama Dream High Season 2 as Nana, a famous idol from the fictional girl group Hershe. Then she provided her voice to the OST for the SBS’ drama, Master’s Sun, titled “You Make Me Go Crazy”.
