The movie, Avengers: Infinity War had featured many new weapons for the MCU superheroes. Captain America had gotten his all-new shield, Thor got the Stormbreaker, The Winter Soldier had gotten a new arm, and Spidey got the Iron Spider suit. But these cannot match Iron Man’s new suit whose applications and powers were almost limitless.
Marvel’s Avengers Infinity War: The Art of the Movie has now revealed a whole lot about the many corrective measures that had been taken before the movie had been finalised. One of these concept arts was by Josh Nizzi, and this shows us the transformation of the Iron suit into a spacecraft. This suit has a big booster rocket engine at its back mount and also includes nano-tech powered wings. This means that Tony Stark could have actually converted this suit into a jet.
Josh Nizzi had this to say:
“The Iron Man superweapon shows off the capabilities of the nanotech suit, both in terms of firepower and how the suit can morph into new forms,” Nizzi had said.
“In order to explore the limits of how much to change the overall profile and massing of the Iron Man suit, I did a number of roughs. These were helpful to dial in how far to push the designs but still maintain the right level of realism.”
A version of this concept artwork had made an appearance in the film. In the movie, Avengers: Infinity War, the huge booster support rockets had been the ones that had inspired the combined rocket that forms around Iron Man’s legs when he had gone into turbo mode for rescuing Spidey from Ebony Maw’s ship. The second part of this design, the huge X-shaped wings, had appeared when Tony fought Thanos on Titan.
Iron Man last made an appearance in the movie, Avengers: Infinity War and the synopsis is as follows:
Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artefacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
