She got fame for appearing as Jessi Hollander in the television series, Kyle XY to which she was attached from 2007-2009. She appeared as Sif in the series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. from 2014-2015. Currently, she is working in the series, Blindspot as Jane Doe/Remi Briggs. Her other television series are The Brink, Ridiculousness, Under the Gunn, Convert Affairs, Standoff, Nurse Jackie, and the others. In 2009, she appeared in the music video, Save You. The following year, she appeared in the web series, Ultradome.

In 2015, she became engaged to actor Peter Facinelli but they ended their relationship in 2016.

She has won the Action Iconic Award and she was nominated for the Saturn Award and Scream Award.
