The Aquaman star, Jason Momoa has a big future in the franchise, Fast & Furious according to the actor, Dwayne Johnson.
Johnson has been promoting the Fast & Furious spinoff movie, Hobbs & Shaw and he had revealed that Momoa had almost starred in the movie. Hobbs & Shaw, which has Jason Statham and Johnson in the leading roles, had added WWE Superstar, Roman Reigns for the role of Hobbs’ brother. However, this role had almost gone to Momoa.
“Me and Momoa tried hard to get him in this movie to play my brother,” Johnson had.
“But his schedule was too packed.”
Although Jason Momoa’s press tour for Aquaman had gotten in the way of him joining the film, Hobbs & Shaw as a Hobbs Brother, there seems to be a future for the actor.
“Next Hobbs movie for sure,” Johnson had said. Momoa can now look ahead to an Aquaman sequel, as Warner Bros. has these wheels turning.
The question is: will Momoa play the role of a friend a foe?
Johnson’s Hobbs had made his first appearance in Fast Five as a Diplomatic Security Service agent who had been tasked with hunting down Dominic Toretto. Mia Toretto and Brian O’Conner. This character had learned that the main protagonists are the good guys and then joins them for the rest of the franchise.
In addition to Statham and Johnson, the upcoming film will star Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby, Eddie Marsan and Eiza González.
Hobbs & Shaw will release on August 2, 2019.
