The former American model and actress who is widely known for her role as half of a brother/sister crime team in the television series Wiseguy is none other than Joan Severance.
She was born on 23rd December in 1958 in Houston, Texas. Her parents are John C. and Martha Severance. Her family had to move frequently around the world due to her father’s job. The family lived in Libya and then, they resided in the Middle East and finally. They returned to the United States and settled in Houston.
At the age of 15, she started modeling to earn money for her college fees. She was discovered by a photographer while appearing in the Miss Houston beauty contest. From there, she was signed to Elite Modeling Agency and was sent to Paris. Being a model, she posed for Vogue Paris, Sportswear International, and many other magazines. She became one of America’s top model after returning to the United States. In 1990 and 1992, she was featured in a nude pictorial on the cover of Playboy magazine. She made her acting debut with the film, Lethal Weapon in 1987 but her name in the film remained uncredited. In 1993, she appeared in the horror and murder-mystery film, Lake Consequence. She was cast in the comedy film, See No Evil, Hear No Evil in 1989. Her other films are No Holds Barred, Bird on a Wire, The Runestone, Criminal Passion, Matter of Trust, Last Sunset, and many more. She became famous for appearing in the television series, Wiseguy in which she played half of a brother/sister crime team. In 2006, she also appeared in the telenovela, Wicked Wicked Games. Some of her television series are Love Boat: The Next Wave, One Tree Hill, CSI: Miami, etc. She also appeared in a few music videos including Rhythm of Love.
In 1977, Severance got married to a fellow model, Eric Milan but the couple got divorced in 1984.
