She was born on 19th January in 1954 in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of Sara Zwilling and Boris Sagal. She was raised in Brentwood.
She began her career in music in 1973 and became a member of The Group with No Name in 1976. She contributed to the album, Moon over Brooklyn. She also sang Loose Cannons, the theme song of the film of the same name. In 1994, she released her solo debut album, Well and her second album, Room was released in 2004. She made her acting debut in 1971 with the television series The Falling of Raymond. In 1985, she appeared in the series Mary in the role of Jo Tucker. She came to prominence for playing the role of Peggy Bundy in the television series, Married with Children to which she was attached from 1987-1997. She lent her voice as Leela in the series, Futurama.
She became very famous for playing the role of Gemma Teller Morrow in the television series Sons of Anarchy. She appeared in the series from 2008-2014. Her other television series are Tucker, Imagine That, Chadam, Regular Show, The Big Bang Theory, Shameless, Grand Hotel, and many more. She also appeared in several films like The Good Mother, I’m Reed Fish, House Broken, Bleed for This, Jack and the Beanstalk, and so on.
She has achieved the Prism Award, TV Land Award, Golden Globe Award, Hollywood Walk of Fame, etc.
