The evergreen American actress and singer who is best known for her role in the film Victor/Victory and the miniseries Harold Robbins’ 79 Park Avenue is none other than Lesley Ann Warren.
She was born on 16th August in 1946 in New York City, the U.S. Her parents are William Warren and Margot Warren. She is of Russian-Jewish descent. At the age of 6, she joined the Professional Children’s School and attended The High School of Music & Art when she was 13.
She started her career as a ballet dancer at the age of 14 in 1961 and the following year, she made a tape of her singing Queen of the Night and came to prominence. At the age of 17, she attended the Actors Studio and became the youngest applicant ever. In 1963, she made her Broadway debut with the musical, 110 in the Shade. In 1973, she played the role of Scarlett O’Hara in the production of the musical Scarlett.
She made her television debut with the television film Cinderella in 1965 and after that, she appeared in For the People. From 1970-1971, she appeared in the series Mission: Impossible but then left the series as she was considered to be inexperienced. She was nominated for an award for appearing in the miniseries, Harold Robbins’ 79 Park Avenue in 1977. She had a recurring role in Will & Grace. Her other television series are The Mod Squad, Love Hate Love, Columbo, Pearl, Daredevil, and many more. In 1967, she made her debut in film with The Happiest Millionaire. She appeared in the film, Victor/Victory in 1982 for which she was nominated for the Academy Award. Her film Color of Night received very poor reviews and she was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress. Her other films are A Night in Heaven, Choose Me, The Limey, Peep World, Between Us, and many more.
In 1967, she married producer Jon Peters with whom she has a son. But they divorced in 1974. Later in 2000, she got married to Ronald Taft.
She has won the Golden Globe Award and has been nominated for Primetime Emmy Award, Gold Derby TV Award, NYFCC Award, Razzie Award, and others.
