The actress who is best known as Wonder Woman for appearing in the television series Wonder Woman and who also served as a model, singer, songwriter and beauty pageant holder is none other than Lynda Carter.
She was born on 24th July in 1951 in Phoenix, Arizona, the U.S. Her parents are Colby and Juanita Carter. She is of Spanish, Mexican, and French descent.
In 1972, she won the Miss World USA contest and then, went on to crown the Miss World title but finished at 15. In 1974, she made her debut on television with the series Nakia but she then was cast as Wonder Woman/ Diana Prince in the television series Wonder Woman that ran from 1975-1979.
She became very famous for the role and DC Comics honored her as well. After that, she appeared in several TV series such as Hotline, Daddy, Hawkeye, Supergirl, and others. She also appeared in films like Super Troopers, Sky High, Tattered Angel, The Duke of Hazzard, etc. She also built a career in music and released her first album, Portrait in the late 1970s. She also co-wrote several songs for television programs.
From 1977-1982, she was married to Ron Samuels. Later in 1984, she married Robert A. Altman with whom she has two children.
She has achieved the Lifetime Achievement Award, The Television Pioneer Award, TV Land Award, and Star on the Walk of Fame.
