The American actress who is widely known for her role as Dr. Lisa Cuddy in the medical drama series, House and Abby McCarthy in the television series, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce is none other than Lisa Edelstein.
She was born on 21st May in 1966 in Boston, Massachusetts, the United States. Her parents are Alvin and Bonnie Edelstein. In 1984, she completed her graduation from Wayne Valley High School and at the age of 18, she moved to New York City and enrolled herself at New York University’s Tisch School of Arts to study theatre.
She dubbed a celebutante by The New York Times magazine. After that, she wrote and starred in the play, Positive Me that was performed at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. She made her big-screen debut in 1991 in the role of a makeup artist in the film, The Doors. She was cast as Danielle in the film, 30 Days in 1999. She also starred as Dina in the film, What Women Want in 2000. The year 2016 saw her performance in the role of Claudia in the film, Joshy. She first appeared on television in 1992 with the television series, L.A. Law as Francine Flicker. From 1995-1997, she appeared as Patty Karp in the series, Almost Perfect. She became famous for portraying the role of Dr. Lisa Cuddy in the medical drama series, House to which she was attached from 2004-2011. She won and was nominated for an award for the role. She also got fame for her role as Abby McCarthy in the Bravo series, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce from 2014-2018. Her other television series is The Good Doctor, Castle, The Good Wife, Children’s Hospital, Judging Amy, Ally McBeal, Just Shoot Me, and many more.
In 2014, she got married to artist, Robert Russell.
