English-born, American heavy metal guitarist, actress, vocalist, and songwriter Lita Rossana Ford was born on 19th September 1958. She was the lead guitarist for the Runaways in the late 1970s before embarking on a successful solo career in the 1980s. In the year 1989 single Close My Eyes Forever, a duet with Ozzy Osbourne, remains Ford’s most prosperous song, reaching No. 8 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

In the year 2008 June, Ford re-emerged with a unique band with Stet Howland (WASP) on drums, fiddling various warm-up gigs under the moniker Kiss Me Deadly before Rocklahoma in Pryor, Oklahoma. In June 2009, she toured Europe and the United States with a new line-up on her last 14 shows containing former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Ron Bumblefoot Thal, Deepfield bassist PJ Farley, drummer Dennis Leeflang.

After a long recording suspension, Ford released the new album Wicked Wonderland on 6th October 2009, on the JLRG Entertainment label. In May 2011, Lita pledged to release an actual comeback album later in the year with drummer Chuck Spradlin, telling that 2009’s nu metal-inspired Wicked Wonderland, was too much of a communal project with ex-husband Jim Gillette. The album Living Like a Runway was disclosed in June 2012 on SPV/Steamhammer Records. During 2014 she was conferred with The Certified Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.

In the mid-1980s, she was briefly engaged to guitarist Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath. Iommi co-created her album The Bride Wore Black, which was never released.

In the year 2016, she released the album Time Capsule – a collection of songs she discovered on old analog tapes from the 80s featuring recordings she’d made with Gene Simmons, Billy Sheehan, Dave Navarro, Bruce Kulick. Also in 2016 Lita published her autobiography, Living Like a Runaway: A Memoir, through Dey Street Books.
