The American-Canadian professional wrestler, Gertrude Elizabeth Vachon who is better known under her ring name Luna Vachon was born on 12^th January in 1962 in Atlanta, Georgia, the U.S. From her childhood, she wanted to be a wrestler to continue her family’s wrestling legacy.

At the age of 16, she started taking training under The Fabulous Moolah and made her debut in professional wrestling in 1985 at Moolah’s all-women’s promotion. That year, she joined the Florida Championship Wrestling where she worked till 1993. After being released from FCW, she joined WWF and first appeared on WWF at WrestleMania IX. In 1994, she appeared on the WWF video game and became the first woman to do it. After leaving the WWF, she started wrestling in the independent circuit and then entered the Extreme Championship Wrestling. In 1999, she joined the World Championship Wrestling. In 1997, she returned to the WWF as Goldust’s manager.

She has gone through three failed marriages. At first, she married Dan Hurd with whom she had two sons. Later, she married Tom Nash and after being divorced from him, she married Gangrel in 1994 but they also got divorced in 2006.

On 27^th August in 2010, she had died at her home for overdosing of oxycodone and benzodiazepine.
