Brazilian-American actress and singer Maiara Kylior Walsh was born in Seattle, Washington on 18th February 1988 to a Brazilian mother and an American father of German, Irish and Swedish origin. When she was just 2 years old she and her family shifted to Sao Paulo, Brazil. At the age of 11, she shifted to Simi Valley, California to pursue her acting career. At the end of 2010, she guest- featured on CW’s The Vampire Diaries as Sarah. In Atlanta, Walsh then filmed Mean Girls 2 as Mandi Weatherly, an A-list cliché girl also popular as a Plastic.
Maiara was also on the Dr. Phil Show. She was also the female lead in the television series Zombieland as Wichita, taking over the character from Emma Stone. After the pilot episode, the series was not picked up. Maiara had a repeated part beginning in 2012 as Simone Sinclair, a former friend of Bay Kennish, a one-night stand with Emmett Bledsoe, friend/ex-girlfriend of Toby Kennish, and ex-girlfriend of Wilkie, in Switched at Birth. Her other film and television work include Unfabulous, Desperate Housewives, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Hopeless, Romantic, The Last Ship, Criminal Minds, Notorious, Empty Sky, Her Boyfriend’s Secret, Summer Camp, Glitch and many others.
