Born on April 24, 1969 as Melinda Patrice “Mindy” Clarke in Dana Point, California, she is an American actress renowned for her work on the small screen. Her mother was Patricia Lewis, a ballet dancer and her father John Clarke was an actor who was originally cast on the daytime soap opera Days Of Our Lives.
She also appeared on Days of Our Lives in the role of Faith Taylor (her father used to be a senior cast member on the show). She also starred in both the seasons of Soldier of Fortune Inc. She also played guest-starring role of the Amazon chieftain Velasca on Xena: Warrior Princess, and appeared on Firefly as a brothel madam Nandi, Charmed as the Siren and made six appearances on CSI. She was cast in a lead role in the horror movie Return of the Living Dead 3 (1993).
She was cast on the Fox drama The O.C. as Julie Cooper, a clever socialite who is a gold-digger. Her character is primarily of a manipulative and morally loose woman, but, as the show’s narrative unfolded, her real reasons come to light. Initially, she was to play only a guest-starring role for the first few episodes, but, fan response turned her into a series regular. She has also been a part of hit HBO series Entourage and appeared as the Devil’s girlfriend in The CW’s 2007 series Reaper.
The year 2010 saw her appear on The CW show The Vampire Diaries as Kelly Donovan. She also worked in a television film She Drives Me Crazy and played the role of Amanda on The CW drama series Nikita from 2010 to 2013.
She has also done a number of voice acting projects, lending her voice to Alexa in The Animatrix: Matriculated, Sofia Ivanescu in a video game Mission Impossible: Operation Surma, Madame Macmu-Ling in Avatar: The Last Airbender and Charlene in King of the Hill.
Clarke had a daughter with Ernie Mirich in the year 2000 and they eventually got married in the year 2005.
