To defend her FCF title, she faced at Strikeforce Challengers in 2010 and won the fight. She became famous for winning the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Championship in 2011. She officially joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2013 and faced Cat Zingano at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale. She won the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship once in 2016. She also won the Fight of the Night twice against Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano. She announced her retirement from MMA after losing to Raquel Pennington at UFC 205 in 2016. Apart from MMA, she has modeled for several websites and publications like Fitness Gurlse and ESPN The Magazine. In 2015, she also was cast in the feature film, Fight Valley for which she was praised by multiple peers and media outlets.

Since 2018, she is in a relationship with fellow MMA fighter Johnny Nunez with whom she has a child and their second child is coming in June 2020.
