A ‘Mortal Kombat’ Animated Film Now In the Works. Here’s What’s Happening


With a huge bigger reveal for the Mortal Kombat releasing this month, there is a whole lot of interest in this franchise that had spawned many media adaptations, and this also includes full-on movie and comic books. Now it seems like there may actually be a whole new animated film in the works according to a new report.

According to Revenge of the Fans, it seems like WB Animation may be preparing to reveal an animated show in the near future. According the very same report, the fans have a little potential casting reveals also.

The Community actor, Joel McHale is an actor of interest, although his role has not been disclosed as of now. The Dexter actress, Jennifer Carpenter, is also on talks , and she may play the role of Sonya Blade.

The site also outlines the following actors to be joining the film:

-Darin DePaul (Spider-Man PS4, Justice League Action)

-Grey Griffin (Young Justice, Avengers Assemble)

-Fred Tatasciore

-Kevin Michael Richardson

With Warner Bros now launching their streaming service by this year, it really makes sense that a Mortal Kombat animated film will be in the works since this reboot actually seems to be at a standstill.
