Kinski started her career as a teenage model in Germany, and later she has performed in many European and American films. With the help of actress Lisa Kreuzer, Kinski secured the role of mute Mignon in The Wrong Move (1975).
She later worked with Wender as she played the lead role in Paris, Texas (1984), and acted in Faraway, So Close (1993). Paris, Texas won the top award in Cannes Film Festival. In 1976, she appeared in the British horror film To the Devil a Daughter.
