The CW just gave Damian Holbrook from TV Insider (a reporter who Marc Guggenheim calls the Arrowverse’s first supporter) with her very first look at a few key moments from the upcoming “Crisis on Infinite Earths” event. A few of the images are new angles from the scenes that the fans have already seen in a few previous photos or in the trailers. A few others show us a few doppelgangers who do not actually seem to be in the best of spirits when they had first met. In one image we can see Brandon Routh’s “Kingdom Come Superman” choking Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman and things do not look good between Bruce Wayne and Kate either.
This event is all set to bring together the superheroes from various Earths to battle against the Anti-Monitor (LaMonica Garrett). He is a villain who threatens to actually destroy reality. In the comic books, this story had ended with the deaths of Supergirl, and The Flash and the destruction of the multiverse. This leads to a single Earth with a lot of complex history and hundreds of superheroes.
This event would be the most ambitious thing DC anyone has actually tried when it comes to live action and it brings together many characters from the current DC Comics adaptations of The Flash, Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Black Lightning and also, Batwoman with the characters from the 1990 version of The Flash, Birds of Prey, Superman Returns, Smallville, and also the Batman series.
“Crisis on Infinite Earths” is set to kick off by Sunday. This will run through a Monday episode of Batwoman and the Tuesday’s episode of The Flash. This is set to be the midseason cliffhanger, as the shows would go on a hiatus for the holidays and also return on January 14 and will finish with the midseason premiere of Arrow and also a “special episode” of Legends of Tomorrow. This will launch as a midseason series and will not be having an episode on air before the Crisis. Black Lightning’s midseason finale is set to have a “Crisis” tie-in.
