A month earlier, Rachel Ward had to relocate her daughter’s wedding after devastating bushfire happened in their neighborhood. She had been planning for using their property to host her daughter’s wedding but the area around the property was scorched and nearby places were destroyed for the bushfire for which 19 homes had been lost. Her daughter, Matilda Brown and her fiancé, Chef Scott Gooding wed at a venue in Sydney.

This actress was born on 12th September in 1957 in Cornwell, Oxfordshire, England. Her parents are Peter Alistair Ward and Claire Leonora. She is the great-granddaughter of Governor-General of Australia, William Ward. At the age of 16, she left her school to pursue her career as a model.
She was featured on the covers of Harper’s & Queen, Vogue, and Cosmopolitan. In 1977, she moved to the US and appeared in television advertisements of Cougar Girl and Revlon’s Scoundrel Girl. She made her debut in acting with the television film, Christmas Lilies of the Field in 1979. She received a nomination and also became famous for appearing in the miniseries, The Thorn Birds in 1983. Her other television credits are Dynasty, Blackbeard, Monarch Cove, Rain Shadow, etc. In 1981, she made her debut film, Night School but she was nominated for an award for performance in the film, Sharky’s Machine. After appearing in the film Fortress in 1985, she disappeared from the film industry but came back in 1987 with the film, The Umbrella. Some of her films are Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid, Against All Odds, Wide Sargasso Sea, The Ascent, and many more.
She has achieved the AFI Award, Jury Grand Prix Award, Best Actress Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award, Sydney Film Prize, IF Award, FCCA Award, etc.
