The trailer for the movie, Avengers: End Game had released after many months of waiting, and it had also revealed the title of the film and many new plot twists. While there had been a whole lot of interesting moments, the trailer showed us the return of Clint Barton, played by Jeremy Renner and also the reveal of his all-new identity. The character had been shown on the streets of Japan, and he was sporting an all-new gold and black outfit, and this was complete with a hood and also a mask. Here are 5 things you need to know about Hawkeye’s new Ronin persona from the End Game trailer:
1. RONIN HAD BEEN CREATED BY JOE QUESADA AND BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS
Bendis had helped in launching the Ultimate universe with Ultimate Spider-Man while Jimmy Palmiotti and Quesada’s Marvel Knights line had brought in a lot of sales following a very troubled time for Marvel. Bendis had then made a move to the Avengers, which had not been a flagship comic property, and Disassembled the team for making way for something all-new. With this launch, an all-new character called Ronin had been included among them.
2. RONIN FIRST APPEARED IN JAPAN
The very first appearance of Ronin had been in Japan, watching the Silver Samurai, who had been dealing with Hand and Yakuza. The grouping of ninjas had seemed like the best setting for the debut of Ronin, and this echoes glimpses that we had seen in the Endgame trailer.
3. RONIN HAS A DEADLY NEW WEAPON
The fans see a very deadly katana that Ronin wipes of blood and this mirrors the many blades that Clint uses in the comic books. Maya Lopez had chosen her weapons for matching the ones of the Yakuza and the Hand, and Clint had then followed suit when he had adopted this persona.
4. RONIN REPRESENTS A DARK PERIOD FOR CLINT BARTON
When Bendis had taken on the Avengers, he had used Disassembled for setting up the status quo for making way for the New Avengers. He had done this by killing half of the team because to the betrayal of Scarlet Witch. One of the deaths had been Hawkeye, and he had sacrificed himself for taking out a Kree starship. He had then been resurrected by Scarlet Witch during “House of M”, and he had made decision to keep his return as a secret. The Hawkeye identity had been used by a Young Avenger-Kate Bishop, and Clint had adopted the identity of Ronin.
5. RONIN HAD THEN LED THE NEW AVENGERS
The New Avenger, Luke Cage had departed the team after Secret Invasion for taking better care of his family, but he had launched an all-new initiative, the Mighty Avengers, and this had then pulled into a supernatural war between the vampires. During the scuffle, they had been assisted by a new hero who was sporting the Ronin uniform who had been invited to the team by Monica Rambeau (Spectrum). It had been revealed that Eric Brooks (Blade) had been the half-vampire behind this mask, a reveal that all the fans had seen coming. The identity of Ronin had been abandoned after this had been revealed.
